Do you have openings available?

We are currently waitlisting, but we do enroll on a rolling basis so spots may open up here and there. Please contact us for more specific information on what openings are coming up and for which age groups.

Do you require potty training?

No, we believe that children should potty train when they are ready and we are happy to assist in the process when the time comes. Students in diapers are required to bring their own diapers and wipes.

Do students need a background in Mandarin?

No, we welcome families of all language backgrounds! Our language program is based on an immersion model in which the children are exposed to Mandarin at school. We have found that students are usually very adaptable to this as a part of the school culture. English will sometimes be spoken at school when necessary.

Who are your teachers?

Our teachers are all Mandarin speakers with prior teaching experience. All of our teachers are qualified to be early childhood teachers or teaching associates in the state of California. All of our teachers undergo a background check and fingerprinting prior to coming on board.

What is the history behind Explorer?

Explorer Mandarin Immersion is founded by a mother of two and a passionate educator, with its earliest idea conception dating back to 2009. It is a passion project over ten years in the making, drawing from experiences as a bilingual Mandarin Preschool Teacher, an Elementary Lead Teacher, an Early Childhood Program Director, and a Preschool Owner in multiple top Mandarin Immersion schools in San Francisco and Taipei.
